HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: Our teaching reflects a public health approach to disease by looking at root causes, including environmental, social, economic, etc., factors that contribute to disease. We teach critical thinking and skills to bring about change. These skills include organizing and empowering communities to enable them to find their own solutions to bring about long-term change and better health outcomes.
