HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: Through the Healthiest State Campaign, Washington Health Foundation (WHF) provides policy and communications advocacy, grants and programs aimed at eliminating health disparities. Related activities include: education and advocacy on WHF policy priorities, Community Health Access Program and Latina Health Fair, and Healthiest State Grants for rural community-based projects in Washington state. Healthiest State Report Card highlights disparities in both individual health (healthy living) and the major systems (healthy systems) that support it.

With the help of its Health Disparities and Diversity Advisory Committee members WHF is inviting a limited number of rural, community-based groups in Washington state to apply for Healthiest State grants to support local Unnatural Causes meetings and action planning. Results will be used in WHF policy advocacy efforts. Groups creating local action plans will be eligible to apply for larger Healthiest State grants to help support their initiatives.
