In March 2007, the community made Healthcare one of the top 10 OneAthens Initiatives, reaffirming the key role healthcare plays in breaking the cycle of poverty and strengthening the economy. The OneAthens Healthcare Team was formed to research best practices and craft a program that fit Athens' needs.
