HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: The mission of the Office of Minority Health is to improve and protect the health and wellness of Maine's racial and ethnic minority communities by enhancing the capacity of the public health system and developing health policies to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities. The Office of Minority Health will promote community participation in the planning and decision-making processes for the Office; support community and State efforts to eliminate health disparities; and create an environment that is both inclusive and culturally and linguistically appropriate.
